Pimm's and Punting

Last week I sent my friend Mike a Facebook message: "Mike, I am coming to Cambridge!" Mike is a Cambridge grad student. He and I attended the First Principles Seminar at Princeton together in August - two of the most fun weeks I'd ever had. I hadn't seen him since then, but he wrote back, offering me a place to stay and a full tour of Cambridge. Sometimes I am overwhelmed by people's kindness and generosity.

And that, in short, is how I spent Saturday afternoon punting down the Cam, with a glass of Pimm's and a book of poetry.

And an entourage of dashing gentlemen, who even listened to me recite Shakespeare. No one ever wants to listen to me recite Shakespeare! But they let me go on and on.

I am one lucky girl.
