Little bit of everything

Have you ever seen Bedknobs and Broomsticks, a really trippy Disney movie about three British children in World War II?

To quote that movie, "Portobello Road, Portobello Road. Street where the riches of ages are sold. Anything and everything a chap can unload, is sold by the barrel on Portobello Road."

It's true. Portobello Road Market sells everything.

Painted tiles and intricate jewelry at little roadside stands.

China. Oh, so much china. My sister and I were going crazy over the china patterns. (Sometimes I think we are little old grandmas in 20-year-old bodies.)

There were shelves full of old books, first editions of classics and funny ones like these.

There were shops with such cute names...

Like this one called "Humble Pie." Hah!

And best of all, there was the Hummingbird Bakery, with its unbelievably good cupcakes.

It's official: Portobello Road is one of my favorite places in London.
