I won't say I'm homesick

Dear London,

It's not that I don't love you. You have awesome museums, darling cupcake shops and more live theater than I could ever hope to see.

I know it's not your fault about the gloomy weather thing. I am a little annoyed that your street names keep changing. Like every block. (Not cool, London, not cool).

You behaved ok Wednesday morning. I discovered a new route to school and my internet FINALLY started working. I thought that maybe you and I had a lil sumpin' sumpin' going on.

That evening was nice too. I rode the Tube for the first time. Dinner at my aunt and uncle's was perfect, and I got to put my darling little cousin Andrey to bed.

But somewhere around 10:45 pm, when I was lost many blocks from my flat and blinking back tears as I trudged my sore feet down streets I didn't recognize... that's when I started to question our relationship.

You're pretty cool, London. It's fun to hang out with you and we should definitely see where this goes. But I'm just warning you now, my heart belongs to Notre Dame, Chicago, and the American Midwest. It's going to take you a long time to win my affections.

Kisses,
The Book Girl
