Maggie's Bachelorette Party!

It finally happened. After a year-and-a-half-long engagement, my best friend Margaret married her dashing Robert!

Her closest friends and family journeyed out to Grand Island, Nebraska (Robert's hometown) for the celebration.

Lillian and I (the co-Maids of Honor) arrived early on Thursday afternoon for the bachelorette party, which was as classy and fun as a bachelorette party could be.

First we went to the nail salon to get all prettied up for the weekend.

Me and Mags - the engaged girls!

We had just one week of being engaged together.

High five for marriage!
After getting our nails done, we grabbed dinner at Runza, a local Nebraska chain with the most delicious meat sandwiches you can imagine. It wasn't the daintiest fare but that's the kind of gals we are. As Frank once told me, "I love you because you'll order a rack of ribs and a Cosmo for dinner." And those Runza sandwiches were so good. I wish I had the recipe.

Things took a turn for the ladylike after that with a stop at Grand Island's lovely Chocolate Bar restaurant. In honor of the occasion, we bought one of every dessert they had!

A few truffles, left over after we demolished the rest

Bachelorette cupcakes, mmmm

The restaurant gave Maggie a complimentary birthday cake shot...

And her older sister Hope was a ham for the camera.

Then we went to a fabulous martini bar called... J. Alfred Prufrock's! Lillian and I were in literary nerd heaven. Of course we all ordered another round... of deliciously girly drinks.

It was a wonderful night celebrating our lovely Maggie. Next up: the wedding!
