So far, so good. So very good.

My first day of work was yesterday, and let's just say that I'm really hoping first impressions are correct, because if they are, I'm going to LOVE my new job.

Everyone at the office was really nice and two co-workers took me on a fun walking tour of campus. I immediately fell in love with the Gothic ivy-covered buildings and all the little campus coffee shops, cafes, libraries and gardens. I can't wait to explore some more! I'm planning to visit one of the coffee shops before work today.

In the afternoon, the office had a goodbye party for another co-worker and they served wine and cake. I've never had wine in the office before, and I feel excited to be joining such a "cool" and laid-back office.

While I would definitely say I'm in the minority politically and religiously, I feel confident I'll make friends, even if I do bring moussaka to lunch (and p.s. I love moussaka!).

    1. It was so fun! I got hot chocolate and it was really good. The space wasn't that great, since it's in a basement, but I would definitely go back and try their food next time.

  2. So many wonderful things happening in your life right now! Enjoy your last bit of time as a single woman, but married life truly is wonderful if you're marrying your best friend. :)

  3. So glad you are settling in well! But being in the minority will mean that you get to be more hipster than usual and can put those glasses to good use :P Make sure to see the Frank Lloyd Wright house, and spend some quality time on a sunny day in the bubble (I don't know what students call it, but it's the Mansueto Library). It's a pretty slick building: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESCxYchCaWI&feature=youtu.be
